Albir Tourist InformationAlbir is a bustling community of apartment blocks and villas with several large supermarkets. New Albir is the area designated to accomodate the modern apartment blocks and is situated on the lower part. The Rio Seco riverbed divides this area into north and south. The riverbed forms a boulevard along which you can walk to the beach. Albir is not the cheapest spot along the Costa Blanca to buy property but is clearly popular. Albir has its own golf driving course with a small corner for putting practice. You may hire or bring your own clubs. Cricket matches are also held here. Albir also has its own bowling and you are spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants and bars. Albir has a high international population particularly British and Dutch. Many restaurants serve paella, the famous rice dish originating in the Valencian region. Also popular is the native Alicante dish, arros a banda, a rice dish made with fresh fish stock and prepared in a similar manner to the paella and served with a garlic mayonnaise.
