Antequera Tourist InformationAntequera is a buzzing market town in Southern Spain, and is home to many churches, including the Iglesia de Nuestra Senora del Carmen, with its impressive Baroque altarpiece. Outside the town are enormous Dolmens, believed as being the burial chambers of tribal leaders in around 2500 BC, while within the town a hilltop castle was built in the thirteenth century of the site of a Roman fort. The Plazo de Toros is home to a museum of bullfighting. Antequera is ideally situated for those wishing to stay somewhere tranquil while visiting bigger cities.
