The modern half of Cuenca offers very little history, mainly consisting of modern residences, tower blocks and apartments. The old part is one of the most wonderful cities in Spain. The cathedral dates from 1177 and shows architecture of several periods. The interior houses many works of art.  The Palcacio Episcopal dating from the 13th century is also worthy of a visit.');
