document.write('Motril is the second largest resort on the Costa Tropical. Is it a commercial town with fruit and flower producers in the area. Motril is located just off the main coast road between Almeria and Malaga where the N325 turns inland for Granada. There is a baroque Town Hall  built in 1631, and the Casa de las Palmas, a 16th century sugar mill. Motril has a busy commercial port, a fishing port and a yachting Marina. There are ferries from here to Morocco. Motril has two beaches Playa Granada and Playa Poniente. The latter is better developed, but the area is not aesthetic enough for discerning international tourists. The Gran Hotel is very comfortable and reasonably priced but its location lacks inspiration. The population of Motril is 50,000.');
